this flag has caused this behaviour on my system (from config.log):

of course because my /lib/libgcc_s.so.1 is for i386 and I was building for an arm.

* Select 5.7 if none pinned.
* Bump PR for recipes which have ncurses dependency.

Previous version is obsolete and can't be found on official FTP, it is also
removed from Debian archives so the packages failed to build if not using
some distro-specific mirror.
Hence, update version removing the old one along the way.
