The workaround was originally added to the 0.10.x gst-plugins recipes in late 2012 [1] and the root cause seems to have been fixed upstream in late 2013 [2] (ie prior to the 1.4.0 release). Move the ARM_INSTRUCTION_SET over-rides for armv4/armv5 out of the 1.6.3 recipe and into the common include, so that they also apply to the git recipe.
