2012-12-03ghostscript: make ghostscript work with long building pathChen Qi2
If TMPDIR has more than 256 chars, building ghostscript fails. This violates the 410 length limit of TMPDIR. This patch makes building ghostscript succeed by changing its MAX_TOKEN from 256 to 512. 2012-11-24lsbsetup: drop itKang Kai2
lsbsetup provides script LSB_Setup.sh to setup LSB test on image. But script LSB_Test.sh provided by lsbtest replaces its function now. So drop lsbsetup. lsbsetup links /etc/localtime to HongKong zoneinfo file to make LSB wcsftime test case pass(Yocto 1079). But the test case PASS without this link, so remove the link. 2012-11-14bash: fix mkbuiltins build failureChristopher Larson2
On hosts with FORTIFY_SOURCES, stringize support is required, as it's used by the macros to wrap functions (e.g. read and open in unistd.h). Those wrappers use the STRING() macro from unistd.h. A header in the bash sources overrides the unistd.h macro to 'x' when HAVE_STRINGIZE is not defined, causing the wrappers to generate calls to 'xread' and 'xopen', which do not exist, resulting in a failure to link. Assume we have stringize support when cross-compiling, which works around the issue. It may be best for upstream to either give up on supporting compilers without stringize support, or to not define STRING() at all when FORTIFY_SOURCES is defined, letting the unistd.h one be used, instead. 2012-10-18sysklogd: fix update-rc.d handlingAndy Ross1
The sysklogd recipe had a cut-n-paste version of the update-rc.d.bbclass code which didn't work, but this was hidden because all images contain the busybox version which does. Building a busybox-free image unmasked the issue and syslogd wouldn't start on first boot. The comments seem to be wrong/stale. AFAICT update-rc.d and update-alternatives work fine with each other, though there is an ordering constraint (alternatives must be specified last, so it "wraps" update-rc.d). I have an email out to the maintainer to see if we can utilize a common BSD license (or something else) however, for now, we should revert bzip2 back to a special license. 2012-09-20Replace "echo -e" with "printf" to have the same behavior in dash or bashAndrei Gherzan2
oe-core removed the prerequisite to have sh as bash. POSIX doesn't define any options and furthermore allows 'echo -e' to be the default behavior. This means that in dash 'echo -e' will actually print '-e' and interpret backslashes by default. We use instead 'printf' builtin command with or without '\n' to simulate 'echo -e' or 'echo -n'. 'printf' needs format while 'echo' can be used without any arguments. So 'echo >' was replaced by 'printf "" >'. 'echo' without '-n' flag adds a new line by default so to keep the same behavior of two new lines while using 'echo "\n"', 'printf "\n\n"' is used. LSB needs wget to download packages but wget provided by busybox doesn't support some options such as '-N'. LSB perl test 4.1.6-2 case all/tst_perlModPresent.pl, ../lib/Class/ISA/t/00_about_verbose and ../lib/Class/ISA/t/01_old_junk.t fail because of lack of these modules, add them to make test pass. File CORE/config.h which is provided by perl-dev and file unicore/version which is provided by perl-doc are required by LSB perl test cases. Add perl-dev and perl-doc to packagegroups-core-lsb.
