2016-03-12python-pygtk: remove the recipeAlexander Kanavin1
python-pygtk hasn't been updated in several years, is incompatible with the current version of pygobject, and is generally obsolete as all modern python gtk apps use introspection directly. Signed-off-by: Alexander Kanavin <alexander.kanavin@linux.intel.com> Signed-off-by: Richard Purdie <richard.purdie@linuxfoundation.org>

2015-09-28packagegroup-core-standalone-sdk-target: ensure libatomic is in SDKRoss Burton1
Some architectures (such as MIPS) need libatomic from gcc-runtime to perform atomic operations, so this package should be included in all SDKs. [ YOCTO #8274 ] Signed-off-by: Ross Burton <ross.burton@intel.com>

2015-08-31packagegroup-base: pull in iw as well as wireless-toolsChristopher Larson1
As was discussed in the commit which adds iw: iw uses cfg80211/nl80211, which is the way of the future. wireless-tools uses WEXT, which uses ioctl, which is in deep maintenance mode. See http://wireless.kernel.org/en/developers/Documentation/Wireless-Extensions. Also https://wireless.wiki.kernel.org/en/users/Documentation/iw indicates "The old tool iwconfing, which uses Wireless Extensions interface, is deprecated and it's strongly recommended to switch to iw and nl80211." wireless-tools is kept as well for now for compatibility reasons, until we have verified that all the network configuration mechanisms are using iw. This adds VIRTUAL-RUNTIME_wireless-tools as a distro convenience. Signed-off-by: Christopher Larson <chris_larson@mentor.com> Signed-off-by: Richard Purdie <richard.purdie@linuxfoundation.org>
2015-08-19packagegroup-core-standalone-sdk-target: remove qemuwrapper-crossRobert Yang1
Remove qemuwrapper-cross from RDEPENDS, install a cross pkg in sysroots isn't useful, if we really need run qemuwrapper in SDK, we should add it as nativesdk, and it has multilib conflicts when populate_ sdk: error: file /usr/bin/crossscripts/qemuwrapper from install of qemuwrapper-cross-1.0-r0.lib32_x86 conflicts with file from package qemuwrapper-cross-1.0-r0.core2_64 [YOCTO #8089] Signed-off-by: Robert Yang <liezhi.yang@windriver.com> Signed-off-by: Ross Burton <ross.burton@intel.com>

2015-07-31packagegroups-cross-canadian: don't override TRANSLATED_TARGET_ARCHDmitry Eremin-Solenikov1
There is no point in overriding TRANSLATED_TARGET_ARCH in packagegroups-cross-canadian recipe. The cross-canadian class sets the PACKAGE_ARCH variable, thus allarch class (inherited through packagegroup class) doesn't change variables. Signed-off-by: Dmitry Eremin-Solenikov <dbaryshkov@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Richard Purdie <richard.purdie@linuxfoundation.org>
2015-07-31packagegroup-cross-canadian: Make the code more readableRichard Purdie1
Make the code more readable by using the functions slightly differently. Signed-off-by: Richard Purdie <richard.purdie@linuxfoundation.org>
2015-07-20gamin: removeRoss Burton1
Gamin hasn't been required for many years now, maintenance upstream stopped in 2008 and the addition of inotify to the kernel made it redundant. Remove the recipe from oe-core, and references to it in pacakgegroup-core-lsb (LSB doesn't require gamin) and packagegroup-self-hosted. Signed-off-by: Ross Burton <ross.burton@intel.com>
2015-06-23meta: Add explict getVar param for (non) expansionRichard Purdie1
Rather than just use d.getVar(X), use the more explict d.getVar(X, False) since at some point in the future, having the default of expansion would be nice. This is the first step towards that. This patch was mostly made using the command: sed -e 's:\(getVar([^,()]*\)\s*):\1, False):g' -i `grep -ril getVar *` Signed-off-by: Richard Purdie <richard.purdie@linuxfoundation.org>
2015-06-23packagegroup-core-tools-profile.bb: Remove oprofile.Philip Balister1
Oprofile functions duplicate perf. Since perf is easier to use drop oprofile from the core-tools-profile package. Also, the oprofile-ui package opens a port on the device. removing this package reduces a possible security issue for devices with profiling tools. Signed-off-by: Philip Balister <philip@balister.org> Signed-off-by: Ross Burton <ross.burton@intel.com>
2015-06-23packagegroup-core-sdk.bb: Drop distcc from the core-sdk.Philip Balister1
distcc has been used in the past to speed up native compile across several machines. This is less an issue on modern embedded systems. Also, improvements in sdk generation have reduced the need for on target compile of large projects. Since the distcc packages start a daemon at boot, drop it from the packagegroup to avoid having some slight runtime impact on systems installing an sdk. Signed-off-by: Philip Balister <philip@balister.org> Signed-off-by: Ross Burton <ross.burton@intel.com>
2015-05-20testapps: remove old gst-meta-audio/video dependenciesAlexander Kanavin1
Unnecessary because gst-player already pulls in correct gstreamer packages anyway. Signed-off-by: Alexander Kanavin <alexander.kanavin@linux.intel.com> Signed-off-by: Richard Purdie <richard.purdie@linuxfoundation.org>
2015-04-27glibc, packagegroup-self-hosted, packagegroup-core-lsb: Consider non-glibc libcsKhem Raj1
Make skipping expression simpler to check for given libc Make sure glibc specific items are covered with right override Change-Id: I8b4a0b7cbfe38ffdc9320f798038c79c7220552b Signed-off-by: Khem Raj <raj.khem@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Richard Purdie <richard.purdie@linuxfoundation.org>
2015-04-21libgcc: remove libgcov-dev from PACKAGESRobert Yang1
There should be only one dev and dbg package. Signed-off-by: Robert Yang <liezhi.yang@windriver.com> Signed-off-by: Richard Purdie <richard.purdie@linuxfoundation.org>
2015-03-20packagegroup zeroconf: nss-mdns is libc dependantBernhard Reutner-Fischer1
glibc provides NSS, other libc do not, so only add libnss-mdns to the zeroconf package group for glibc. This fixes the build of core-image-sato for e.g. uClibc Signed-off-by: Bernhard Reutner-Fischer <rep.dot.nop@gmail.com>
2015-03-09recipes: add x11 to required DISTRO_FEATURESMartin Jansa1
* it's not complete, but recipes depending on virtual/libx11 are easiest to spot, I've long list of PNBLACKLIST for all recipes which cannot be built in distro without x11 in DISTRO_FEATURES Signed-off-by: Martin Jansa <Martin.Jansa@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Richard Purdie <richard.purdie@linuxfoundation.org>
2015-02-27packagegroups: use gst-player instead of owl-videoRoss Burton1
owl-video is a bad video player that doesn't work very well, use gst-player instead for testing. Signed-off-by: Ross Burton <ross.burton@intel.com> Signed-off-by: Richard Purdie <richard.purdie@linuxfoundation.org>
2015-02-16packagegroup-base: select distro preference for bluez providerPeter A. Bigot1

2015-01-29arch-mips.inc: Change definition of TRANSLATED_TARGET_ARCHMark Hatle3
[YOCTO #7230] In certain system configurations TRANSLATED_TARGET_ARCH will not expand in the right order for gcc-cross-candian-mips64n32 to be generated properly. This will cause SDKs to fail to generate properly. Changing the global definition of TRANSLATED_TARGET_ARCH always expands the ABIEXTENSION, which causes the OVERRIDES to pick it up as well. This effectively defines a new class of overrides for the 'n32'. The side effect is that we need to duplicate some mips64 overrides, and redefine others that were previously 'n32' or 'mips64' exclusive to have the correct semantics. Signed-off-by: Mark Hatle <mark.hatle@windriver.com>
2015-01-23packagegroup-self-hosted: package all of PythonPaul Gortmaker1
Based on commit 745dfbc869fd593d1b92e2bc9c01d589ab21ade3 "buildtools-tarball: package all of Python", we do the same here for packagegroup-self-hosted. The switch to the fetcher where it added BeautifulSoup revealed a shortcoming in the python packaged for the self hosting (missing htmlentitydefs). Here we fix it in the same way as what was done for buildtools-tarball and include python-modules vs. all the individual little chunks. Signed-off-by: Paul Gortmaker <paul.gortmaker@windriver.com> Signed-off-by: Ross Burton <ross.burton@intel.com>

2014-12-19packagegroup-core-tools-profile: allow lttng-modules for ARMNathan Lynch1
Per commit f6587be6cd3dc864143b1c0be0bb8179a61dc835 (lttng-modules: re-enable ARM builds) lttng-modules is fine for ARM now. Without this additional change, tools-profile won't bring in lttng-modules when targeting ARM. Signed-off-by: Nathan Lynch <nathan_lynch@mentor.com> Signed-off-by: Ross Burton <ross.burton@intel.com>
2014-11-06packagegroup-self-hosted: add git-perltoolsJackie Huang1
git-perltools provides some usefull git tools like: git-submodule, git-request-pull, git-send-email, git-am, etc. We should have it added in self-hosted image. Signed-off-by: Jackie Huang <jackie.huang@windriver.com> Signed-off-by: Richard Purdie <richard.purdie@linuxfoundation.org>
2014-09-29packagegroup-core-standalone-sdk-target: Add libgcov-dev to on device SDKNobuhiro Iwamatsu1

2014-09-10packagegroup-self-hosted: move graphics packages to graphics groupJackie Huang1
The following packages are gui based tools: xdg-utils # A set of common interfaces for desktop leafpad # A GTK+ text editor used in Build Appliance midori # A web browser used in Build Appliance pcmanfm # PCManFm file manager used in Build Appliance vte # Virtual terminal emulator GTK+ widget library Move them to packagegroup-self-hosted-graphics so that we can make a graphics free self-hosted image by excluding the packagegroup-self-hosted-graphics. Signed-off-by: Jackie Huang <jackie.huang@windriver.com>
2014-09-03packagegroup-core-boot: conditionally rdepend on VIRTUAL-RUNTIME_initscriptsChen Qi1
If we are building a systemd image with 'sysvinit' not in DISTRO_FEATURES, the initscripts should not be installed into the image, as they are useless. What's more, we as now support executing scripts under /etc/rcS.d, the boot time will be increased by these scripts as the systemd will try to translate them into temporary service files. These init scritps are actually needed only when 'sysvinit' is in DISTRO_FEATURES. Signed-off-by: Chen Qi <Qi.Chen@windriver.com> Signed-off-by: Richard Purdie <richard.purdie@linuxfoundation.org>

2014-04-25Globally replace 'base_contains' calls with 'bb.utils.contains'Otavio Salvador4
The base_contains is kept as a compatibility method and we ought to not use it in OE-Core so we can remove it from base metadata in future. Signed-off-by: Otavio Salvador <otavio@ossystems.com.br> Signed-off-by: Richard Purdie <richard.purdie@linuxfoundation.org>
2014-03-31packagegroup-core-tools-testapps: Move GLTOOLS to X11GLTOOLSOtavio Salvador1

2014-03-21genext2fs: remove itRobert Yang1
